So we took the Demolition and swapped out two of them for the bourbon country stout which was totally an awesome idea because the country stout costs like 20 bucks for 4 and we payed half the price for the two we swapped out. This was also a collaboration of Adam and Brian.
The Demolition Story: “Back in the early ’90’s, our landlord went bankrupt and they tore down the mall surrounding the original Goose Island Brewpub. Sure, we were still open, but who would know it with all the demolition going on. We had giant wrecking balls careening around, the walls were shaking… it was tough. We lost a good part of our business for a year, and if not for the most loyal of our customers, Goose Island would have closed. To honor those brave souls, we brewed a golden ale called Demolition. It was so good and so popular, we’ve brewed it every year since (I even served it at my wedding!) It’s brewed with Saaz and Styrian Golding hops for a grassy, citrus aroma and lots of the finest pale malt for a “honey” malt middle and intense flavor. Demolition tastes great on its own or with a plate of fresh oysters.” Greg Hall, Brewmaster
Brewery Hometown: Chicago
Appearance: Belgium wheat ale producing a golden appearance thats looking pretty course filtered and gives somewhat of a decent head.
Aroma: you can smell the citrus and wheat to it but is got somewhat of a sweet scent to it as well.
Taste: We agree that we can taste the extra alcohol but i find it surprisingly smooth. Its thick and creamy which is my type (brian) of beer. the best way i could describe it is goose 312 of roids. But it has less of the bitter after taste of 312 and more of just a creamy smoothness. I think the best way to describe it is if your watching Beerfest, when you make their awesome beer. Whatever you could possibly imagine that beer to taste like is what this was for me.
Alcohol %: 8.0
Drink One or four?: purchase the four and use them as chill beers one at a time. drinking them all at once would almost be a waste. this is a beer you should bust out when you want to enjoy the moment and savor life.
Cost: $10 / 4 pack
Overall:Adam 9 / 10, Brian 9.5 / 10, Jim 9.1/10,
Sidenote: I had a miller lite pretty soon after this and wanted to kill myself for drinking such shit beer
