Xingu Black Beer
by Andy

I bought tickets for everyone to see Four Year Strong at the Metro last Friday. As repayment, I - of course - offered beer as a means of repayment. This exotic beauty came to me via Brian. Kudos sir.

Brewery Hometown: Brazil

Appearance: When poured, looks pretty similar to a Coke. Deep amber color (after holding it up to light and squinting my eyes…yeah its wonderfully dark), small brown head that fades quickly.

Aroma: Deep, utterly hoppy. Nice hint of sweet essences peak out of the initial thick roasted aroma. The light ending made me think of Newcastle, but with more kick.

Taste: A complex roasted, wooden flavor hints you initially. Wonderfully intriguing and eyebrow raising. Take it slowly and enjoy. The end is sweet, liquorice-like. Aftertaste is light. The overall blend is extremely appealing.

Alcohol %: 4.70

Drink One or All Six?: 6. An excellent dinner beer for finer meals, occasions.

Cost: $8(?) / 6 pack

Overall: 8.7 / 10 Definitely worth at least a taste.
