FALL IS HERE YAY! Put on your hoodies! Beertastic is getting back into the swing of things as I settle into my new pad in downtown Chicago; I found the nearby Binny’s so I am totally set. This is the first Octoberfest I saw.
Brewery Hometown: Windsor, VT
Appearance: Clear, crisp dark amber. Golden tinted around the edges, light head. Fall here we come!
Aroma: Deep malty aroma with a sweet finish. Gives off a complexity/character we all get excited about for fall beers.
Taste: Deep! Got lost in the initial sip, the tail end had a dry edge that was reminicent of an IPA (?), not that offensive, and had some sweetness to offset it. Further sips did show some nice malty kick, but overall nothing mindblowing; warm, and perfect for the changing season but not showy enough to maintain my attention.
Alcohol: 5.5%
Drink one or all?: All if you aren’t paying 100% attention, good for gatherings.
Cost: $8/sixer
Overall: 16/20 solid but standard
